Long TIME!!!!!!!

Holy cow I have not posted in a realllllly long time!!! So so much has happened since my last post. First of all I graduated!!!

In the pouring rain! It was not like a down pour more of a constant steady rain that soaks you through and keeps quite cold and terribly wet when you are wearing a cap and gown. Did you know that graduation caps do not do well after being in the rain? They get mushy and quite gross. Before picture

look curly hair! It was so cute! then it died!

My brother and sister in law (Paul and Celeste) did all they could to ensure that my graduation of fun and celebrated. I am so grateful for that!!!

The next day my brother Chris and his family came into town after a horrible trip with a dying car and what not. They were here for about two weeks.

I had to work a lot before Christmas and this made me quite cross. I wanted to play with my nieces and nephews!

I treated my Suzzie, Celeste, Celena, and my mom to the Forgotten Carols. We had a good time and loved the play.... but Deseret Book or Gammage lost my tickets sat us somewhere else where the men in the lighting booth talked quite a bit through out the performance. But besides that, we had tons of fun. I even eventually complained to my lovely company and got my money back because it was so grievous to me.

The 23rd/24th Brian and his family came into town. For the first time in quite some time the whole Whiting Clan was back together again. I loved it! i have missed that so much. Yes the bathroom, rooms, and every inch of the house was full of stuff, but boy did I love the time we spent together and the feeling of having us all there.

I went to California after everyone was gone, with the lovely Celena. We had fun not doing much of anything. My aunt's house is nice and easy to relax at. I loved spending more time with my cousins. We watched them when my aunt and uncle went to the temple. fun! We had pillow fights and mostly good times. We found out we love the game settlers of Catan. Weird I know but it really was quite fun!

Now I am just trying to stay busy. I have been applying places but no real prospects yet. I think I should use my time to write, but I dont feel like I fit anywhere.... well I strongly feel I fit in my family.... I love those guys. My family is so supportive and loving. But my ward, and everywhere else, I just am not feeling the groove right now. I am a little lost in Limbo. It is like I know something big is coming in my life and I just have to wait for it. I remember now I am not very patient. I am with people, but not with life I guess because Heavenly Father has to keep teaching me that lesson.

I know I am where I am supposed to be in my life and that I have followed what I knew to be right. So things will go great. I just have to have faith and patience.

5 years later

5 years ago on Oct 26th my father woke me up and said goodbye to me in his normal voice. He was set of to get surgery on his tongue which had tested positive for cancer. I did not know if I would be saying goodbye to him for the last time. I had faith that everything would work out. I woke up later and went to school to take an Aims test to try to exceed...why i still took it that day I have no clue because of course I could not concentrate. I left school early because I just did not want to be there after my test because I could not think of anything else but my dad. Blanca came over and helped me with my homework and took me to the dollar store to buy some gifts for my dad. We made him a basket of stuff to do in the hospital and a whiteboard to write what he needed to say since we knew he might not be able to talk for a while.

Blanca took me to the hospital and at this point I had no clue how my dad was doing because my mom would not tell me. When I got to the hospital my mom started to cry and Judy and Celeste my sister in law had to tell me what was going on. My dad had been in surgery 8 hours and that was not a good sign. Apparently my dad had a lot more cancer than expected. They sent biopsy back after biopsy and everyone came back positive. My dads surgeon finally decided to stop and leave as much of the tongue as he could and hope radiation and chemo would get the rest. When I had finally heard the news my heart dropped to my stomach. I had always thought that was an expression...but no i literally felt it drop. My dad only had 1/3rd of his tongue left, had a feeding tube, and had a trachea.

Blanca made me go see him. I had no intention of visiting him at the hospital. I did not want to see my dad like that. Blanca held my hand and i saw my dad with his neck stapled like Frankenstein, tubes everywhere, some tubes with blood, and a big tube coming out of his neck. I felt so queasy. Blanca helped me out of their when she saw me go pale. I am so grateful for Blanca's help that day.

I drove my mom home and when we got there Suzzie was there with Lillie. We had always worried about Chris and Suzzie getting pregnant with Lillie so quickly after they got married when they had not known each other very long. Well I did not as much but it was said. :) But the Lord had it in his plans to have that little girl come down. Lillie's smiles and happy demeanor helped our family through one of our hardest trials. Heavenly Father knew we needed her. She put into focus that life goes on and that it will all work out in the end.

Those next weeks and months were very hard and tiring both physically and emotionally. Blessings never ceased. Though it was so hard, so hard, the spirit and presence of God have never been stronger in my life. Literally our lives were guided in the smallest aspects to the largest. I understood every word my father said when no one would. To this day I still understand what my father says when he has a tough time saying it. I acted as his translator to everyone else. He even said once he could not understand at all how I understood him. But I did! I attributed this talent of mine to the years i talked with my mouth full, though this could have helped, I knew it was a huge tender mercy from the lord. The Lord let me help my dad when he was frustrated with his inabilities and affliction. I thank my Heavenly Father for that opportunity.

Five years later I am about to graduate college and I could not have gotten through it alive without my dad. That trial made us stronger and though I would rather not relive it, I do not want it taken away. Yes I would love to have my dad whole again, for him to eat pizza, and to hear his voice I heard as a child. One day after our resurrection I will hear him again and if it is truly heaven... he will be able to eat pizza! I love my Heavenly Father and know he set up my life to be able to handle that experience and use it to help other later in my life. Thank you to all of you who have prayed and assisted with whatever was needed back then and now.

House Sitting Diaries #1

I am house sitting for a family in my home ward. I thought I had secured friends to stay the night with me but some communication error occurred and that was not what happened. I was alone and after taking a friend home every noise every movement was caught by my ears and had my un divided attention. Of course the thunderstoms started about this time. I have not been freaked out by storms since I was a kid but some reason they are freaky again when all alone. But I tried to picture them and how pretty they are and it worked out. Oh course I had really odd dreams...woke up at 5 am...then at 8.

Well there is this bird...I have to take care of it. I am just plain and simply not a pet person. everytime I look at it, it knows. It stops doing everything when i glance at it. A few minutes ago it was digging at the bar with its beak. I think it was trying to break out.

I am also here for the plants and i dislike them because wholly bugs and gnats!!! SO if you know of a way to rid the place of the little creatures you let me know.

Finally last night I had friends come over and oh boy. We played this kids game first then started looking at books. These people have the most interesting books in their library! Our favorites were how to be a friend to your husband (Paul my new friend calls this book the slave book), the what you dont know about everything you know, 97 ways to make a baby smile, a quote book dictionary size, and some potty book. oh boy honestly i know my friends want to come over again to look through those books!!!

Green hair Diary # 2

Well My grandparents and Brian and Candice now have seen my hair. Weirdly Paul and Celeste who live the closest have not seen my hair, but they have been sick. Anyways my grandparents more of pointed out it is green and they did so at very different times. They seemed to have no problem with it or they did not voice one. My Aunt Louise said something about it to ... probably why. Because my new number one hair comment is

Why green

or simply

Why

This is what Brian, Louise, and countless other people have asked me when they finally see my hair. Well why hmmm.... my answer shortens each time. Now I say I wanted to but really I just felt like having fun with it and this brand had a beautiful green. Honestly i love it very much!

Sadly....

My hair is now more blond than green. Slowly the blond tips are going up my hair....well actually its not so slow. I need to re-dye it. However it was done with professional hair dye and when I ask my friends they give me the run around. This is not something to do with hair dye problems! I dislike the blond green look very much, though i was told by a guy last night to go swim in a highly chlorinated pool. uh... thanks for trying.

So I somehow need to get the green chartreuse looking color from Pravana. I need someone to help me put it back in my hair. I have developer I think all I need is the dye and willing abled gloved hands to help me.

So my readers if you know anyone with such a license and abilities let me know! My friends are just flaking out on me in my time of blond ugliness!!

Snow in June!!

Just realized I did not post about my week long Kansas trip but yet my Utah weekend vacation is demanding me to write!

My mom and I went off on an adventure this weekend to Cedar City, Panguitch, and St. George. My brother lives in Cedar so that is where we stayed. But the reason we went this weekend was because of the Quilt fair in Panguitch. lol it makes me laugh that i go to these cheesy things. But I think it is not the quilt show that is cheesy but the people who attend. I mean a woman so proud of the rabbits she hand stitched on her sweatshirt....uh.... and the woman who quilted her skirt... approaching cute but really?? but yet they dont get that excited over the door prizes. Free stuff people!!! lol it was all very interesting. Did we buy something??? heck yes! they had such cute quilts and fabric and i saw this one quilt I had to get the pattern for. Well we left and saw my brothers store in town, ate pizza and head home in the rain. Brian had told me to take this road around panguitch lake and Brian Head. um.... I really dont like following his instructions no more! It snowed!!! when I saw slush on the road at a low point I stopped the car and freaked but kept going. Candice, who I now know is a liar, knew that if there was slush there there was snow at the top. She told me none of this and tried to convince me all of this was left over from winter and frost from the cold night before. Um Candice there is snow on my windshield!!!! Then turned a corner BAMM!!!!!!! everything is white! I was flabbergasted!! Its june!!! its snowing!!!!! Holy crud i am driving in it!!!!!! i did well but I drove slow as molasses!!! Because there were so many dangerous winding turns. Did stop at one point and take pictures. Oh goodness now I am back in Phoenix and its so not winter!

Green Hair Diary #1

While in beautiful Kansas I streaked my hair with a beautiful green. It is however fading at the ends and I fear slowly going back to the bleached blond underneath. Until then the fun of green hair continues. I love the looks and conversation that comes from my hair. Need an ice breaker? Put green in your hair! lol okay that could be a bit rash for most of you, but I promise it works. The first day i was back in Phoenix I went to the chiropractor and these two little kids kept coming into my room to look at me. I was laughing. The most common comments are:

It is not St. Patricks day (or some variation)

What does your mother think?

Why did you do that?

I LOVE it!!! both the color and the cut!

The last is my favorite of course. My neighbor who i had not really muttered many words to, but my parents know her and her family well, started talking to me every time I come home because she really loves my hair. I think we could be good friends. :)

Sister Burns really made me laugh. She told me that she loved the cut but the green has got to go! lol. She has told me several times. It makes me laugh!!

Sometimes I feel judged, like people expect me to be a certain type of person. But this also opens up my eyes to what judging really is and that is ridiculous!

I love love love my green hair! Pictures will come soon just as soon as i can get a good one. I dont take pictures of myself very well so i will need someones assistance.
