The Gospel Rocks!

So I was having yet another really rough week and my mother is leaving in the morning to go to Kansas, earlier than expected. I am gonna be home all Friday by myself so I was figuring I was gonna have a breakdown sometime. I did not want to make my mom feel worse, cause she already feels bad she will not be able to celebrate my birthday with me. So I did not want to ask my dad for a blessing. I have been feeling like I needed one all week but wouldnt ask. Today I text a friend who is like a brother to me, since my brothers are busy elsewhere and I really wanted it today. SO I got my blessing and I am very glad. I think I needed it from someone else, because I knew that he did not know what was going on, but said exactly what I needed to hear. I know Heavenly Father is listening, sometimes we just need help in remembering we are not here alone. I love this Gospel! Where else would I have such a great answer. I am so full of Gratitude!

The Cricket Diary

Okay this is not on my recently normal subject but felt it has completely altered my life for the past two days, so its good enough to write about.

So normally I dont kill every cricket I see, only if it is in my way because mostly they dont bother me. However there is some vengence in this new crowd of crickets who have decided to come around this monsoon time. They go on my sink in my bathroom which I think is a vialation of all thats good in the world. So i started closing the drain (i thought i was cutting off their entry but my dad informs me this is not so but their foood and drink supply) and they would not come in my bathroom. Great! I was happy. Then they apparently (but in very low population) moved elsewhere. I saw one go in my room, but um I have brown carpet, you try keeping track of that thing! Well I figured he left cause my room cannot be that interesting. Well then Thursday night the chirping began. It was loud and obnoxious! I seriously have never heard a cricket SOOOO loud before. I was having a rough night sleeping but this made it impossible. I could not find it either.
SO last night I decided it was on. I was on my knees saying a prayer when it started. I debated whether praying to Heavenly Father to help me kill a cricket was ethical or good. But either way i got up and then it stopped. see this is a smart cricket, because it was like motion sensored and would stop if you got too close. I was tearing apart my room. I swore he was in here because of how loud he was, but then I really dont know where he was! I became convinced after following the sound he was either in my door or door frame. Upon seeking this venture my dad and I have now found the shotty job the builder people did at fixing our house after Paul crashed into it with the van. See the bathroom wall and my wall moved when he hit the house and my door was effected. Well apparently there are holes around my door frame, we found them last night. My dad was not so sure at first. He sat in my room with me in the dark. I was in bed and he in my chair. I had flashbacks to when my parents would sit in my room when I was scared or having a hard time, then would leave when I would fall asleep. Surprisingly it was comforting, but when i forgot he was there and he made a sound i was a tad startled. Anyway the chirping begins again. it takes like 3 rounds for my dad to find him. Then we found him! we squirted him with our cricket killer (water and soap-works every time!) and he seemed injured but then disappeared. My dad told me he is either dead or not chirping around here anymore. Hallelujah! (i just spelled that correctly the first time!) This better be the end of my story because I want some good sleep tonight. No up until 230 am to kill a cricket.
Needless to say I love my dad! I might be 21 in a few weeks but he still will come and do a cricket stake out in my room!

Meeting Traci

Well Saturday I got to meet my favorite author, Traci Hunter Abramson. I was so excited! Meeting her was awesome. In my life I have found having a good attitude and finding positive perspectives is the way to be happier. She is the definition of this. She told us so many stories and seemed to be so positive about everything and to not let anything bother her, i loved that. She seems to be the type of author that just loves to write, and write for her followers, not someone after great achievements or to be the best out there. Of course I actually think she is one of the best. She also started asking me questions, granted I was hanging out at her table, so it was nice to be asked about. Eventually she asked me what I wanted to do with my major, and I told her writing and how I first found I liked writing. She was so sweet and encouraged me. She said "when you get published"... which made me think she was jumping ahead a little. However, hearing her talk about not needing to be the best out there, because it is not a competition, made me rethink why I have not been writing. She mentioned how she writes for people to have fun, and not to try to sell a million copies, but hopefully more than the last book. I just loved her attitude and her personality. I am very glad I loved the person who wrote my favorite books, cause wouldn't stink if the author of the books I read was a brat? Well this is totally not the case here. I thoroughly enjoyed myself at the signing. I also left with a new way of looking at my writing. Thanks so much for coming to Glendale Traci, even though no one really showed up. I am really glad she came.

The Grocery Store

So I do not normally go to the grocery store. I either go to Walmart or have my mom go get it. Well since my dad takes the truck to his job now, I drive my mom around places. Normally we go to walmart and my dad takes her to the other places later, but because dinner required a place like Frys, that is where I took my mom today. Lets address my outfit first. After cleaning my room and such in the morning I prepared to look decently cute. Wearing a cute shirt, rolled up to the knee capris, and to new low heels that needed breaking in. I have no make up on and do not look overly amazing, just kinda cute. Well upon getting out of the car I was stared at. My mom even told me she was ready to hit the guy with her purse if he dared say anything. Then getting a cart I was stared at by another worker type guy in a truck. I was already feeling kind of weird. Well as I pushed the cart in heels (and my mom is weaving in and out of places in which i should get rewarded for being able to follow her with heels), I started thinking. The only guys who are here are probably older and single. Guys my age probably shop at walmart, just order pizza, or shop later in the day, not on a friday. So basically I feel like prey or like I am going to be stared at by these guys. Now some of it might have been in my head, but there was noticing at least going on. I felt watched. Now this is all flattering, but I dont think this is the crowd I am going for. Now the high schoolish aged kid who smiled at me as I left did not make me feel weird, but by that point I did not want to look at any guy directly. So if I feel the need to be oogled I will go shopping in heels friday afternoons at Frys. Until I feel that need I will go shopping frumpy looking, when food shopping. This was an interesting experience I felt I needed to share. Thanks for listening.

My random Thoughts Currently

Super excited that August 1st from 2-4 pm Traci Hunter Abramson is Coming to Glendale DB to do a signing. Guys she is my favorite author! Her books are amazing! She makes exciting books with so much action but an awesome love story. What girl could ask for more? I have read all of her books and love them. I get so excited talking about her books and practically beg my customers to buy them. I have never heard of one person not liking them. My sister in law has a hard time reading but is loving these books. okay sorry my salesman will go away now. Anyway I am super excited and have a feeling I am going to melt like a total dork in front of her. I will probably get a picture with her and am debating whether having her sign all my books is too much. I have one already signed but it was not signed in my presence, I sent it to a bookstore she was signing at. Either way I figure I will end up looking like a dork of a fan, but I figure its okay. I know she is just another person but I am an English major so I guess I am a bigger Dork about this stuff.

Also Friday Suzzie comes for the weekend and take Chris home. I am sooo excited to see her. I get to pick her up and she is going to cut my hair one more time! yay! I am very concerned for the condition of my hair with her no longer around. I have realized I do not know how to really do my hair nor do I much have the patience, so I will probably keep it short. BUt anyways I am super excited to see Suzzie, but I am going to be very sad Sunday night and Monday. I know Chris has been driving me a tad nuts, but I am REALLY gonna miss him. I mean he even wanted to beat up that kid who took me out so rudely. I want a brother around to do that! But I am super happy for him to go to Med. School! So proud!

I love the monsoons! I just wish I had a porch swing to watch! Oh and I wish it would rain a tad more.

Less than 5 weeks until my friend gets home. Show down time. Ah ! I feel like I am reading a book series and I just want to know what happens, but the writer is in a coma! Thats the best way to describe my feelings. But at the same time, I feel like I am ready to move on, but I guess that just needing something to change, as in not writing letters and waiting. I dont know, I am sure it will be here before we know it. And yes the past two years have been very long! The problem I am forseeing is too many people knowing I kinda like him. This is not all my fault. Case and point, Tuesday night. Heather told Bro. Barton I was writing a missionary. This is true but she of course lead it to believe there is more. My fear is that he comes home, not sure, maybe just thinking friendship, and finds out that everyone things we are something. Even worse he might not be able to come near my house, cause my family tease me and they are bound to slip! This cannot happen, but I figure it will within a week or 2 of him being home.

my birthday.... on a monday in September. My nephew's due date, mom will be out of town to see him, but is my 21st and golden birthday. Trying to figure out how to prevent it from being stinkish.

Just a few things I am thinking about. There is another, but not sure I should write it. Basically Work could get better, worse, or remain the same and that might not be good either. Hmm. Is work ever just consistently something I can love? I really like my co-workers though.

Night!

Grateful Praise!

I am so grateful to God right now for just helping me have an amazing weekend after a hard week, and I thought the weekend was going to be horrible. I am so glad i found my positive attitude days before the trip. This made the trip amazing. I got to cockroach hunt and play rummy with my Grandma! My favorite things with her ever! I got to sit on my favorite swing and read a book from my current favorite author. I saw fireworks and this was good minus the ones over the house that the neighbors had illegally. apparently the cops missed a few the night before. Got to monitor a suspected drug house across the street. Okay that one just made me laugh, my grandparents are so cute! I came in the house just unpacking the truck, and my grandpa asks if i need dope cause they guy across the street could help me. LOL! I could tell then the weekend was looking up. I also found super cute shoes at the mall that is like 15 feet long. I got 2 pairs of totally cute shoes for 15 dollars. score! Hopefully I learn to walk in the one pair, because they are far taller than what I am used to. Also today before we left I got to see Brian and Candice and her family. Oh ya and that cute little nephew of mine. I loved watching Landon laugh and play with me. Daisy was really excited to see us and I got a bath of kisses from her. I was so grateful to see them, because I miss them oh so much. I miss having that family only 10 minutes away, that are willing to take me in when I am sick of the social scene. They did that a lot for me. So even though I thought it was going to be boring I loved my weekend. My dad was even able to relax, i could tell because he teased me up the Wazou. lol. But he really enjoyed time with his brother, they are so alike. I am so grateful I was able to have this great weekend and reflect on the positives in life. Thank you Heavenly Father for giving me this amazing weekend! Oh ya I almost forgot... I got a letter too! I got home and there waiting for me was a letter with a picture and poem inside, from my favorite Elder. So needless to say I am happy and thankful.

What the world needs now...

is more water fights. I was having a day full of emotions that were not happy. I was so frustrated and down in the dumps. Of course i really had some great perspective advice from people, but after my water fights tonight, I realized I needed to be proactive and change my attitude. I was so happy playing in water and even threw water on some guys hoping they would get even with me. I mean there was just a perfectly good bucket of water sitting there, it needed to be played with. Anyway I realized I just need to try to make it my best summer. Do not think about how rotten things are but what you can do. I need to take my lemons and make the best dang lemonade ever tasted! its my new motto. I came up with that after the water fight man. I am going to be the funnest aunt a far away niece has had too. SO Lets make some great lemonade and have the best attitude!
